Subject:	NBI Upgrade Weekly Status 9/22/11

NBI Upgrade:  The armor calculation has been completed and checked. Armor drawings are 
being finalized to go out for fabrication. VV reinforcement analysis and optimization has been 
completed. Requisitions and pcard orders were prepared and approved for BL and Controls 
hardware. Work on the N4 Local Control Centers to update A, B, and C to present design 
continues. 

NBI Refurbishment:  Calorimeter parts are on order to begin refurbishment and reassembly. Ion 
Dump plate, manifold, and stand fabrication continues. Platform component fabrication for the 
118 ft. elevation continues in the shop. Bellows welding continues as welding availability 
permits. The end flange will be fabricated to compete the unit which will also allow it to be leak 
checked prior to installation. The cryogenics insulation replacement products for the original 
disintegrated element are being evaluated for selection and purchase.
