Subject:                          NBI Upgrade Weekly Status 9/24/10

Al,

NBI Upgrade:  Planning continues on additional plasma cutting tests on curved stainless plates to simulate the vacuum vessel Bay K port modifications. Detailed cryogenics design work continues in support of the FDR. Reviews of the resource loaded schedule continue to correctly align job tasks for the FDR and beyond. Job managers received the monthly cost performance report from the upgrade project office with feedback to address anomalies in the calculations.

NBI Decon: Test Cell decon activities included low level decon on the BL external water rack and platform. Removal of external platforms, walkways, and peripheral manifolds has commenced.  These removals required use of the TC crane. Some area maintenance has been performed this week also to maintain the Test Cell.

Regards,

Tim
