Subject:                          NBI Upgrade Weekly Status 11/19/10

Al,

NBI Upgrade:   Plasma cutting tests continued including plate cuts, containment tests, and IH air samples during plasma cutting operations. Support bracket drawings for the rolled plate prototype have been given to the Tech Shop for fabrication. Effort on drawings for BL Services continues.

NBI Refurbishment: Conversion of ion dump original drawings continues. The need to evaluate the braze properties of the rolled copper dump plate has been identified and will be required prior to use. A sample will be taken for braze tests if required. Some work in the Test Cell continued to disposition parts and clear areas for refurbishment work. Test Cell weekly maintenance was performed.

Regards,

Tim
