Subject:	NBI Upgrade Weekly Status 5/6/11

NBI Upgrade:  Job status meetings were held this week with all active jobs reporting progress 
toward FDR. Progress has been made on the VV prototype setup in the Weld shop. Effort on 
drawings continues to prepare for the FDR. A roughing valve location has been chosen and 
added to the TVPS design which closes Peer Review chit #2. This location matches roughing line 
locations for the new BL also. In house stock of CFC tile material has been identified for use on 
the NBI Armor hot spot locations. This CFC material provides additional strength in key areas 
and will be incorporated into the Armor design.

NBI Refurbishment:  Effort is underway to package a rad waste shipment including the old ion 
dump plate. This effort will clear space needed for further refurbishment activities. Machining of 
the new full energy ion dump plate continues in the shop.
