Subject:                          NBI Upgrade Weekly Status 3/4/11

Mike,

NBI Upgrade:  Work continued on drawings for power, controls, and services, and will be resuming on TVPS in preparation for the Peer Review and FDR. An additional analyst has been added to look at magnetic shielding for the TVPS turbopumps. Discussions continued on weld details for the VV modification with several good options identified. Planning for the VV prototype for plasma cutting and welding continued including the generation of a draft testing plan. Confirmatory armor thermal analyses are continuing in preparation for the Peer Review. Management attended the ITP meeting this week.

Regards,

Tim
