NBI Management: The Peer Review presentations have been placed on the NSTX
NBI upgrade website.
NBI Decon: Regrowth surveys were completed and the data processed by
HP for the calorimeter. Data is being reviewed but in some cases regrowth is
clearly nonexistent. Other areas show some fluctuation in the levels but well
within survey data error bars. Further review is ongoing. Decon wipedowns
resumed on the calorimeter this week with steady progress noted. Floor areas
have been prepared for the lid stand. The lid stand is scheduled to arrive in
the Test Cell next week.
NBI Relocation: Diagrams of height rack ups for crane and shield wall
clearances are complete. Lift fixture concepts and techniques are being
evaluated.
NBI Power and Control: Electrical work on N4 HVEs to disconnect
internal connections has been completed. HVE placement in the NTC has been
finalized but an adjustment to a shield block at the North door will be
required. This shield requirement will now be studied and incorporated in NTC
equipment relocations.
NBI Duct, VV Port: The magnetic field environment for the new TVPS
location appears amenable for TMPs. A shift in the TVPS duct is required to
maintain the West aisleway. The TVPS duct realignment will impact some racks and
relocations.
NBI Armor: Beam divergences were included in the model of the beam
trajectories to map the heat deposition by the beam on the armor tiles. These
distorted ellipses on the armor provide a more accurate representation of the
areas painted by the beam footprints.
NBI BL Services: Cost information is being gathered to fold into the
upcoming estimate and WAF.
NTC Equipment Relocations: A point by point survey of diagnostics
physicists and racks and rack contents impacted by removals is
underway to quantify requirements and perhaps streamline relocations
later.
