Subject:                          NBI Upgrade Weekly Status 2/04/11

Mike,

NBI Upgrade:   The NBI monthly status meeting was held this week with all active jobs reporting. Work that is required for the upcoming NBI Peer Review was discussed and on balance progress is expected to be adequate. However, ongoing outage tasks still have to finish to get planned resources onto upgrade tasks. The weld details for the Bay K weldment to the VV are still being evaluated in relationship to the global models and stresses in that K-L port area.

NBI Refurbishment:  Progress on the ion dump drawings has been very good. Using these newly converted drawings, a meeting was held with the Fabrication Division to discuss the ion dump manufacturing process. The ion dump will be added to the shop queue and start after the existing outage work completes. Test Cell maintenance was performed to maintain walk in areas.

Regards,

Tim
