Subject:                          NBI Upgrade Weekly Status 12/17/10

Mike,

NBI Upgrade:   Work continues on planning and making hardware for the VV prototype plasma cutting and welding tests. An inspection of the existing NSTX NBI armor backplane took place on NSTX at Bay I while the Bay I port cover is removed for outage work. The NBI Interface meeting this week covered status of drawings, analysis, turbo pumps and shielding, installation procedural steps, armor thermocouples, and job costs. The NBI cost performance reports were discussed at the weekly CS meetings along with CS jobs.

NBI Refurbishment: No refurbishment activities were scheduled due to conflicts with other work. Conversion of ion dump drawings continues on pace to support shop work planned after the Holidays.

Regards,

Tim
