Subject:                          NBI Upgrade Weekly Status 12/3/10

Al,

NBI Upgrade:   An internal Peer Review for NBIU has been planned for late March 2011 to assess progress toward the FDR later in June 2011. Efforts continue on duct and vacuum system drawings and magnetic shielding analysis. Interest continues concerning the Bay J-K cap weldment and VV modification in the context of the VV global model loads. This weldment has been modeled as a prototype for testing purposes in conjunction with planned plasma cutting tests.

NBI Refurbishment: Measurements were taken in the warehouse on the raw rolled copper full energy ion dump plate blank. Effort to convert old ion dump drawings to CAD continues.

Regards,

Tim
