Subject:                          NBI Upgrade Weekly Status 4/15/11

Al,

NBI Upgrade:  Preparations continue for the Peer Review 4/19/11. Thermal analysis on the armor for the peer review is complete. Ion dump full energy plate initial machining continued. Set up of the VV modification prototype began in the Technical shop. TVPS design work on gauges, RGA, and ion gauges has been completed and drawing effort continues. Efforts continue on electrical and services drawings.

NBI Refurbishment:  Setup and core drilling of the old full energy ion dump began in situ this week. These samples will be tested for residual tritium. A comprehensive survey of the ion dump was performed by HP this week in preparation for these tests. After coring, this dump will be removed and packaged for disposal.

Regards,

Tim
