Calc for PF 4/5 support to be released to checking soon. Example of calculation to improve readability (Smith) (see VGs) Mark reviewed a template that would facilitate the checking process and any future work on the calculation. Template will be posted. Update on material testing & PF4/5 Supports (Titus) (see VGs) Short beam insulation tests were completed on the cyanide ester and hybrid resin blends. Test were conducted at both 80 and 100C. Not much improvement was seen at the 80C temperature. Some De-Lamination is Expected The parting planes must be predictable and not Cause Tearing of Fiberglass Insulator. The OH Kapton Interleaved Insulation Will Part Reliably – Like Old ITER Design. Recent Measured Results for the CTD 425 System Show Preferential Failures at Copper Bond Surface, But Sufficient Shear Strength to Support TF Torsional Loads. The present columns on the 4/5 supports doesn't offer much support will likely replace with larger diameter column. http://nstx-upgrade.pppl.gov/Project_Meetings/CenterStackUpgrade/index_Meetings.htm
