The latest analysis using a P1 to P5 VDE Fast Disruption indicates stresses in the passive plate should be manageable. The next step is to change analysis input conditions need to P1 to P4 Slow Disruption to verify earlier analysis that indicated a stress problem in the secondary passive plates. G10 Crown to Lid Connection Analysis (Zolfighari) (see VGs) Detailed ANSYS analysis on the upper G10 to lid connection indicates bolts will need to be increased slightly to 7/8" from 3/4" and the friction between the G10 and lid will need to be 0.4 to maintain joint tightness. This will require a high friction coating to reliably achieve the required coefficient. http://nstx-upgrade.pppl.gov/Project_Meetings/CenterStackUpgrade/index_Meetings.htm
