Subject:                          NBI Upgrade Weekly Status 11/12/10

Al,

NBI Upgrade:  The Project Office Job status meetings on NBI jobs took place this week with all jobs reporting. Progress toward a NBIU Peer Review and subsequent FDR has been steady. Due to the choice of ATJ tiles, an Armor WAF revision is in progress with a cost reduction anticipated. Kelsey Tresemer attended TOFE in Las Vegas this week to present the NBI Armor preliminary design and analysis. Efforts on NB Services drawings continue. Work on the VV rolled plate prototypes for plasma cutting tests is in progress.

NBI Refurbishment: Review and conversion of ion dump drawings continue. Evaluation of the full energy dump plate is also in progress. Some efforts were deferred a week so we could support the removal of the NBI BL1 duct on NSTX this week to allow access to the Vacuum Vessel.

Regards,

Tim
