Subject:	NBI Upgrade Weekly Status 5/20/11

NBI Upgrade:  Welding and cutting continues on the  VV modification prototype.  Analysis on 
vacuum performance of flux core welding is in progress. Additional testing is planned to qualify 
the welding process for vacuum. Efforts continue to resolve support and magnetics issues around 
the Bay K weldment in conjunction with the Bay L VV modification presented at the recent 
MPTS PDR. Analysis is ongoing. Drawing efforts continue in preparation for the 
FDR. Management attended the NSTXU CS Peer Review held this week and the IPT meeting. 

NBI Refurbishment:  Machining of the new full energy ion dump plate continues in the shop. 
Additional refurbishment work on sources, calorimeter, and ion dump is being planned.
