Subject:	NBI Upgrade Weekly Status 6/17/11

NBI Upgrade:  Preparations for the FDR continued with dry run sessions for presentations this 
week. Only minor editorial changes were required, Optimization of VV reinforcements continues 
to resolve a PDR chit for MPTS related to RWM fields. Qualification tests of flux core welding 
for vacuum continues. Fillet weld strength tests were performed with successful results. Progress 
on new drawings continues for controls, services, and TVPS. Bay K cap models have been 
updated to incorporate recent changes made to optimize for manufacturability, VV stresses, and 
RWM field penetration and response. Drawings for the Bay K cap which were complete will be 
updated after analysis is completed.

NBI Refurbishment:  More equipment was moved from the CS high bay to the Test Cell to make 
room for the Centerstack fabrication area. Items in the Test Cell have been covered and secured. 
Ion dump machining continues in the Tech Shop.
