Subject:                          NBI Upgrade Weekly Status 8/20/10

Al,

NBI Upgrade project management is planning an external cost and schedule review next month as recommended. Participants and charge questions have been discussed. Detailed design work continues on the TVPS duct turbomolecular pump magnetic shielding required to use the TMPs close to the vessel. Planning continues for the tests associated with plasma cutting and the vacuum vessel modifications.

NBI Decon:  Decon has been completed on BL exit baffle door piece and cryo pipes. Decon continues on source platform and the BL external water rack. Test Cell area maintenance has been performed on a routine basis. Tooling required for taking core samples from the ion dump has been evaluated and this task can be performed with standard equipment that can be readily purchased.

Regards,

Tim
